At the MICCAI'08 workshop 3D Segmentation in the Clinic: A Grand Challenge -- Coronary Artery Centerline Extraction, the MeVis Research team, consisting of Ola Friman, Caroline Kühnel and Heinz-Otto Peitgen, was awarded with the first place. In a field of 13 segmentation methods, the algorithm developed at MeVis Research had the best accuracy and overlap when compared with gold standard segmentations by human experts.
