To mark International Breast Health Awareness Month, which takes place every October (see www.breastcancer.org), female scientists from Fraunhofer MEVIS invited female students from Oberschule am Waller Ring and the BBSG vocational high school for health, along with their female friends & family members to the institute on Monday to discuss breast health.
The workshop topics at a glance:
The hands-on stations gave participants the opportunity to talk to each other, share their own experiences and gain exciting insights into various fields of study and subject areas. The future of digital medicine is also being shaped by women: female breast radiologists are advancing patient care, computer scientists, mathematicians and biologists are developing innovative diagnostic methods, and artists are exploring emerging technologies through creative works in dialogue with science.
The event is part of the upper secondary school specialization “Digital Medicine” offer of the Oberschule am Waller Ring, in cooperation with the MOIN Campus Nachbarschaft Sichtbarkeit project. Participants from Fraunhofer MEVIS: Susanne Diekmann, Bianka Hofmann, Anna Rörich, Sabrina Tölken and Guido Prause (institute tour in addition to the event).
