Fifth Meeting of the Fraunhofer Kuratorium

In Bremen on Thursday, June 6, 2013, the Fraunhofer MEVIS Kuratorium, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erich R. Reinhardt, met for the fifth time. In the first meeting following the departure of founder and former institute director Prof. Dr. Heinz-Otto Peitgen, members of the Kuratorium praised the continuing positive developments at Fraunhofer MEVIS and articulated their appreciation and thanks to the institute’s personnel.

Dr. Hans-Otto Feldhütter, director of the research division of the Fraunhofer headquarters in Munich, gave a talk concerning the current state of affairs of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. Subsequently, interim institute director Prof. Dr. Horst Hahn reported on developments in the focus and structure of the institute and outlined medium-term plans and prospects. An important milestone was reached when Fraunhofer MEVIS successfully passed an evaluation by an independent, international review boards this past April.

The Kuratorium was presented with demonstrations of current practical research by scientific personnel to relay the latest developments of Fraunhofer MEVIS in the fields of liver therapy, pharmacology, and clinical studies.
