Benjamin Köhler will be awarded with the BVM Award from the German Medical Image Processing Society, acknowledging his extraordinary bachelor thesis. The thesis has been done at Fraunhofer MEVIS, supervised jointly by Prof. Bernhard Preim (University of Magdeburg) and Dr. Jan Klein.

Benjamin Köhlers work was integrated in our activities on the reconstruction of HARDI data (High Angular Resolution Diffusion Imaging), a relatively new kind of data for analyzing human white matter. His work was an extraordinarily deep analysis of fiber reconstruction with global optimization methods. The award will be presented at the BVM Workshop 2012 in Berlin.
