Fraunhofer MEVIS researcher Federico von Samson-Himmelstjerna received the Summa Cum Laude Merit Award 2014 at the Joint Annual Meeting of the ISMRM-ESMRMB held from May 10 to 16 in Milan, Italy. He received the prestigious award for his work “Time efficient and robust perfusion measurement using Walsh-reordered time encoded pCASL”.

The work was presented as PowerPoster, a new session format whereby during each scheduled oral session, 15 of the best abstracts in each subject area are given a 2 minute 'poster pitch', followed by a 1 hour poster presentation on big plasma screens.

The Summa Cum Laude Merit Award is given to PhD students and young Post-Docs whose abstract scored in the top 3% of all abstracts submitted to the same general category.
