From May 8 to 10, 2024, the radiology community will gather at the 105th German Radiology Congress, short “RÖKO”, in Wiesbaden, Germany. The motto of this year’s congress is “Radiology in Transformation” and will focus primarily on AI (artificial intelligence) applications.
The congress will address questions such as how AI will change radiology, what benefits it brings to everyday clinical practice and how it can be used to improve healthcare for patients.
Institute director of Fraunhofer MEVIS and honorary member of the German Radiological Society Horst Hahn has contributions to several sessions of the RÖKO Wiesbaden and RÖKO Digital:
On May 9, 2024, he will present the publication that was most important to him in the past year in the refresher course “Radiology and IT IV—The lITerary quartet—Publications you need to know about“ in Wiesbaden. The course will be co-hosted by Bianca Lassen-Schmidt, Principal Researcher Pulmonary Image Analysis and AI, at Fraunhofer MEVIS. The aim is to present high-impact publications from interdisciplinary journals.
On May 10, 2024, he will co-host the highlight session “Digital medicine of the future—paving the way today” in which he will give a talk about “Decentralized versus centralized—archive structures, registers, RACOON.”
The digital part of the congress, short “RÖKO DIGITAL,” will continue until June 22, 2024. On June 8, 2024, Horst Hahn will be co-moderating an online course on “Radiology and IT: AI use cases for radiology” with contributions of representatives of various organ system working groups. The course will tackle pressing questions like “Where are the greatest needs and potentials for the use of AI and automation? What is at the top of radiologist’s wish list?”. The objective of the session is to prioritize the need for evaluation and optimization applications.
