The residency program STEAM Imaging invites artists and creative thinkers to engage in intensive exchange with Fraunhofer MEVIS scientists. Together, they critically examine current methods, developments, and research findings in digital medicine, to support the creators to develop and exhibition a new artwork.
STEAM Imaging provides an experimental framework for creators and scientists to reflect on current research and explore new approaches to artistic production, with a strong emphasis on education and science engagement: A key element of the program is the shared STEAM experience through workshops and events with school students and, in STEAM Imaging IV, their friends and family. The art and research alliance enables prospective university students to explore scientific and technical topics from fresh and unexpected perspectives, encouraging them to engage with science, technology, and art in a self-directed and creative way.
The artists and creative thinkers can take on a range of roles, from artwork developers to research partners and STEAM educators. At the same time, the program offers researchers the opportunity to reflect on the broader societal dimensions of their work.
