ARS ELECTRONICA 2018

Ars Electronica Center

Cognitive Computing and the Cooperation of Digital Medicine and Arts:

This year Fraunhofer MEVIS contributes two 3D Short Movies at the Ars Electronica Festival 2018 in the Deep Space 8K

“Digital Medicine, Arts, and STEAM: “BEFORE US LIES ETERNERDY” shows different scales of the human body, from digitized microscopic lymphoma tissue examined with the molecular cytogenetic technique Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) to detect abnormal changes in DNA, to 3D reconstructions of two vessel systems of a liver as well as a whole-body MRI. It offers an artistic, large-scale immersive experience in the Deep Space 8K and will be simultaneously launched at Media Art Nexus (NTU Singapore).

Bianka Hofmann and Alexander Köhn will talk in a live video call with collaborators Ina Conradi and Mark Chavez from NTU about arts' contribution to bring artistry and a sense of awe to remove barriers for getting engaged with severe health topics and also as a transdisciplinary approach of innovation in digital medicine.

When:    Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8th and 9th, 11:30 am - 12:00 am

Where:    Ars Electronica Center, Deep Space 8K
