The second year in a row, the work of Fraunhofer MEVIS was recognized by the scientific documentary industry at the Raw Science Film Festival held on January 26 in Los Angeles, CA.

Exactly 10 years after joining the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, on 1 January 2019, the former Fraunhofer Institute for Medical Image Computing MEVIS changes its official name to Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS.

After a two-year planning phase, the construction of the new institute building for Fraunhofer MEVIS began on the campus of the University of Bremen in early September.

We are opening the doors and inviting kids and their parents to visit our MRI Center at Fraunhofer MEVIS on Wednesday, October 3rd. In cooperation with the Foundation for MINT-Entertainment-Education-Excellence (MINTEEE) we are pleased to give filmmakers exclusive insights into the future of medicine and hospitals in a one-day workshop on June 27.

In Bremen on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, the Fraunhofer MEVIS Advisory Board (Kuratorium) met for the tenth time.

From May on, visitors of the Ars Electronica Center can watch the new short film “Physicians’ Colleague, Patients’ Helper: The Cognitive Computer” in the 3D theater Deep Space 8K. The film shows how deep neural networks contribute to the evaluation of medical data and how this also changes the role of physicians and patients.
