Breast Health Awareness Month

By women for women: Female school students, their friends, mothers and scientists exchange ideas on breast health

To mark the International Breast Health Awareness Month, which takes place every October (see www.breastcancer.org), female scientists from Fraunhofer MEVIS invite female students from Oberschule am Waller Ring and the BBSG vocational high school for health, along with their female friends & family members to the institute on Monday, October 27, 2025,  to discuss breast health.

The workshop topics at a glance:

  • Breast Health: Why it matters to all of us and what everyone should know.
  • Our Body, Our Health: A clear and accessible look at breast anatomy, modern diagnostic methods, and the most common conditions, explained in a way that’s both understandable and medically accurate.
  • Women’s Bodies in Research: How cutting-edge scientific studies, digital medicine, and mathematical models are transforming the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases.
  • A Journey Through the Cultural History of the female breast.
  • An artistic female perspective on women's bodies in research.

The event is part of the upper secondary school specialization “Digital Medicine” offer of the Oberschule am Waller Ring, in cooperation with the MOIN Campus Nachbarschaft Sichtbarkeit project.
