Since earlier this year, research scientists of Fraunhofer MEVIS are engaged in the four-year project AEGEUS (A Novel EEG Ultrasound Device for Functional Brain Imaging and Neurostimulation) alongside with several other European partners. The goal of AEGEUS is to develop and manufacture a radically new prototype headset that combines transcranial ultrasound imaging with electroencephalography.

Fraunhofer MEVIS is well represented at the 13th International Conference on Metamaterials, Photonic Crystals and Plasmonics (META 2023), July 18–21 in Paris, France.

Am Montag, dem 12. Juni 2023, fand im Institutsgebäude von Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen die 15. Sitzung des Kuratoriums statt. Unter Leitung des Vorsitzenden Prof. Hans Maier und unter Beteiligung aller Mitglieder des Kuratoriums fand die Sitzung erstmals seit vier Jahren wieder in Anwesenheit statt.

Fraunhofer MEVIS is well represented at the Annual Meeting & Exhibition of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and the International Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists (ISMRT) in Toronto from June 3 to 8, 2023.

Fraunhofer MEVIS-Institutsleiter Prof. Dr.-Ing. Horst Karl Hahn wurde am Freitag, 19. Mai 2023, auf dem diesjährigen Röntgenkongress zum Ehrenmitglied der Deutschen Röntgengesellschaft (DRG) ernannt.

Mehr Schulpraktikumsplätze und eine Challenge als Teil des Unterrichts – sechs Bremer Schulen und drei Forschungsinstitute kooperieren, um ein aufeinander abgestimmtes Programm für MINT-Nachwuchsförderung an den Start zu bringen. Am 17. und 18. April 2023 wurde die gemeinsame Absichtserklärung unterschrieben. Initiiert, gefördert und verantwortet wird das Vorhaben von der Stiftung Bremer Wertpapierbörse (BWB). Es ist auf zunächst zwei Jahre ausgelegt und wird bei Erfolg um ein weiteres Jahr verlängert. Das ZARM an der Universität Bremen ist neben dem Fraunhofer MEVIS und dem Cognitive Systems Lab eine der tragenden Forschungseinrichtungen dieser Initiative.

At DMEA, Fraunhofer MEVIS will present software solutions for data structuring as well as guideline-based and data-driven decision-making to interested companies. In addition, MEVIS experts will demonstrate optimized image-guided procedures for tumor follow-up in cancer treatments and lung diseases using AI. The experts of the Fraunhofer MEVIS team look forward to welcoming you at the booth of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in hall 2.2, booth D-107.
