The Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS is again well represented at this year’s European Congress on Digital Pathology (ECDP 2026), taking place 17–20 June 2026 in Graz, Austria.

Matthias Günther, Deputy Institute Director of Fraunhofer MEVIS, was designated Fellow of the Society at this year’s meeting of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) held in Cape Town, South Africa from May 9 to 14.

Die MS Wissenschaft startet am 7. Mai 2026 in Berlin ihre Tour im Wissenschaftsjahr 2026 – „Medizin der Zukunft“. Mit an Bord ist auch Fraunhofer MEVIS, das im Rahmen eines gemeinsamen Exponats von Fraunhofer Gesundheit zeigt, wie Künstliche Intelligenz in der Tumorverlaufskontrolle eingesetzt wird.

Fraunhofer MEVIS nahm am 23. April erneut mit einem umfangreichen Programm zum Thema Digitale Medizin am Girls’ Day teil. Ziel war es, das Interesse von rund 20 teilnehmenden Schülerinnen ab der 7. Klasse für wissenschaftliche Inhalte zu wecken, diese praxisnah zu vermitteln und Perspektiven innerhalb der MINT-Fächer aufzuzeigen.

This year's European Congress of Radiology (ECR), which will take place in Vienna from March 4 to 8, has the inspiring motto “Rays of Knowledge.” The meeting will highlight progressive education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and technological advancement, illuminating the path toward patient-centred, knowledge-driven imaging practice. Fraunhofer MEVIS is actively involved in shaping the ECR 2026 with a variety of contributions.

Der Basic Track des Programmierwettbewerbs Bremen Big Data Challenge (BBDC) war zum dritten Jahr in Folge ein voller Erfolg: Rund 100 Teilnehmende in 38 Teams sorgten für eine Rekordbeteiligung. Das Cognitive Systems Lab (CSL), das Zentrum für Angewandte Raumfahrttechnologie und Mikrogravitation (ZARM) sowie das Fraunhofer-Institut für Digitale Medizin (MEVIS) luden Bremer Schüler:innen ein, Methoden der Künstlichen Intelligenz praxisnah zu erproben. Bei der Preisverleihung am 18. Februar wurden die besten Programmiertalente des Wettbewerbs ausgezeichnet – dank der Unterstützung durch die Stiftung Bremer Wertpapierbörse (BWB) erhielten die Siegerteams Geldpreise in feierlichem Ambiente.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS will showcase the latest developments in AI-supported digital medicine at the SPIE Medical Imaging Conference 2026, taking place from February 15 to 19 in Vancouver, Canada. This year, Fraunhofer MEVIS will be represented at the renowned conference with two poster presentations and a co-chaired live demonstration workshop, in which two of the live demos will showcase work by Fraunhofer MEVIS.
