Pediatric Radiology in Concert: Together on All Levels

The GPR (Society for Pediatric Radiology) 2025 will take place from September 17 to 20 in Hanover. The main topics of this year’s conference are: Musculoskeletal Diagnostics in Children, Rights and Wrongs in Pediatric Radiology, Networking in Clinical Practice and Research, and Optimizing Pediatric Radiology in Practice.

The congress motto is "Pediatric Radiology in Concert – Together on All Levels." This emphasizes that the diverse clinical, scientific, and technical challenges in pediatric radiology can only be successfully addressed through collaboration. "Together" means working with our patients and their families, alongside colleagues from other specialties, in close partnership with both general and neuroradiology, and through strong cooperation between physicians and radiologic technologists. It also highlights the importance of national and international networking in pediatric radiology.

Pediatric Organ Segmentation

Discover the first AI segmentation solution in the RACOON network designed specifically for pediatric imaging. Unlike conventional models trained on adults, our approach provides reliable and accurate organ segmentation for children. Trained exclusively on annotated pediatric CT data and enhanced with GIN (Global Intensity Non-Linear Augmentation)-based augmentation, one single model works for both CT and MRI. Embedded in the CuraMate segmentation workflow and developed within the RACOON RESCUE project, the solution is available to all German university hospitals. Clinicians benefit from reduced complexity and time savings.

Quantitative Evaluation of Imaging and Clinical Data on Rare Abdominal Tumors in Children

Studies on pediatric tumors face the challenge of scarce data, heterogeneous radiological, and uncurated data form the clinical health record. We present a workflow for curating clinical data using a data steward and an application to evaluate fast DCE-MRI sequences to quantify promising enhancement patterns. Our tools are designed to be used within the hospital using Docker-based deployments and web-based tools for interaction from everywhere in the hospital.

Orthopedic Therapy support

We support orthopedic therapies with advanced modeling and simulation techniques that can integrate motion data. Since many problems only become prominent under load or during movement, this approach allows us to identify misalignments of the spine, hips, legs, or feet at an early stage. By visualizing motion and biomechanical interactions, we provide clinicians with valuable insights for diagnosis, planning, and therapy.
